There's No Single 'Best' Glove for Everything

If you're looking for a one-size-fits-all answer to "What glove should I buy?", I'll save you some time: it doesn't exist. I'm an office administrator for a mid-sized manufacturing company, and I manage all our PPE ordering—roughly $150,000 annually across 8 vendors. When I took over purchasing in 2020, I thought I could find a single glove that worked for everyone. I was wrong.

Different jobs have different hazards. Different workers have different preferences. And different budgets have different realities. Here's how I've learned to break it down into three main scenarios, based on what we've seen work (and not work) across our 3 facilities.

Scenario A: The Chemical Handling Environment

What we use

What we use

If you're still unsure, start with Scenario C (general purpose) and upgrade for specific tasks. It's easier to add protection than to take away a glove that's too bulky. And always, always check the product data sheet. If the vendor can't provide one, walk away.
